At the Westminster Dog Show we all understand that every four-legged animal there is a dog. Most of us can tell the difference between a Doberman and a Dachshund. Both are dogs, but each breed has been bred for a different skill set or trait. Both hemp and marijuana are part of the Cannabis Sativa plant family, but the two plants have been bred for different purposes.

Our medicinal hemp strains have been bred to include all of the cannabinoids, terpenes, vitamins, minerals and fatty acids helpful to the human body.  The hemp plants Happy Mutant uses for our products are grown without the need for herbicides or pesticides. Our plants have not been genetically modified either. Hemp, whether a medicinal or industrial strain, must contain no more than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) per dry weight. THC is the active compound that causes its euphoric effect. Happy Mutant’s products have ALL trace amounts of THC removed from our oil during the extraction process.

Hemp and marijuana are “cousins” in the same plant family. One five leaf plant (HEMP) has been cultivated for the medicinal and industrial use. The “other” plant has been bred to get people high. Due to the inherently low THC percentage that can be found in hemp strains (less than 3%), it is virtually impossible to get “high” by smoking or ingesting the plants we use in our products.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring constituent of industrial hemp/cannabis. Its formula is C21H30O2 and it has a molecular mass of 314.4636. It is the most abundant non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis and is being scientifically researched for various reasons.

CBD oil is a cannabis oil that has significant amounts of cannabidiol (CBD) contained within it. Happy Mutant products and extracts are derived from pharmaceutical-grade medicinal hemp, so they could be considered CBD-rich hemp oil, hemp derived CBD oil, CBD-rich cannabis oil, or plainly hemp extracts since they typically contain much more than just CBD.  The cannabis we use for our CBD products is medicinal hemp; we do not sell products derived from marijuana.

A true full spectrum product utilizes every aspect of the hemp plant. The stem, seed, flower and leaves are all harvested and prepared for the extraction of phyto-canabinoid rich oil.

A true full spectrum product includes all of the natural cannibinoids. Cannabidiol, or CBD, makes up about 90% of the cannabinoids in our extracts. The remaining 10% is comprised of more than 100 organically-occurring cannabinoids such as CBC, CBG, CBDA, and others. Also included in our extracts are more than 40 natural plant terpenes (a scientific classification of scents and flavors), vitamins, trace minerals and Omega-3 fatty acids.

Happy Mutant uses the same full spectrum oil in all of our products to ensure you the cleanest and healthiest product possible.

NO! Standard hemp seed oil, which can be found very cheaply at a grocery store, is a much different product than our full spectrum hemp extracts (not from seed). Standard hemp oil is produced by cold pressing the seeds, whereas Happy Mutant hemp extract is a full plant extraction with many components not typically found in the seeds. Hemp seed oil is considered to be a great nutritive food, but it doesn’t have the naturally occurring terpenes, cannabianoids and other medicinal components that our extracts do have.

All Happy Mutant products are legal to buy, sell, ship and use in all 50 States. Our products are extracted from hemp and contain NO THC.
